Meet Roger!
Roger is one of those colleagues that “everybody” knows. He is kind, helpful and always hard-working to help both customers and colleagues. Talking to Roger usually leaves you with a big smile on your face. His happy dialect (Dalmål) is a lovely bonus!
As we have mentioned earlier, we have different kinds of Application Specialists here at Sectra. Roger is working at the Support department. Application Specialists working in deployment works in projects where the everyone can plan most of their tasks in advance and work with one or a few specific customers at a time. But when working at the Support department, almost every day is different and depends on what tickets that has come in, to us. One other thing that also stands out from most other teams and departments at Sectra is that the Support organization handles tickets related to more or less all of Sectra’s products. One ticket can be about solving something in PACS while the next can be about one small adaptation that only one customer has!
“I would rather call me an Application Generalist, cause a generalist knows a little about almost everything, and can quite fast zoom in on the problem and solve a lot of them. When we need help, we contact the next level of specialists (our developers) at Product Support. One can liken us to the doctors at the health centers, who can find and treat a lot of diseases, but sometimes need to refer to the hospital to get help from specialists.“
Roger joined Sectra in 2009 as project engineer working on our PACS solution, but also our Business Analytics portfolio back in the days. He was also involved in the early deployment of both our Education Table and our Pathology solution. Just like many other within Sectra he has also had several roles within the company. He has worked with global sales support, been a project manager, and then worked as a Service Delivery Manager for a couple of years before he started his new challenge as an Application Specialist (or Generalist?)."
When talking about the Sectra Education Table he shared that he once got to install one on a veterinary education site. While there, they got a tour of the facility and met lots of different animals. “I didn't think I would experience that when I started working at Sectra!”.
It really is fantastic that we have such diverse customers. And the possibility to help both humans and animals feels really good.
