Meet Sara!

At Sectra, we hire for attitude and ability, and train for skill. This approach brings together professionals with diverse career backgrounds, enriching our organization with a wide range of perspectives, knowledge, and experiences. Even within the same role, colleagues can come from completely different industries.

Originally a Biochemical analyst, Sara spent eight years working at a hospital. She then transitioned from being an end user of their laboratory system to working on the supplier side, bringing valuable insights and knowledge to her new role.

“I slipped into Medical IT a bit by chance, but this swap suited me perfectly”, Sara says. “Coming from the medical side it feels good to still be involved in helping patients, although in a completely different way.”

Six years later she switched to RIS and PACS and started working as an Applications Specialist here at Sectra. “I enjoy working at Sectra. It is inspiring to see the genuine motivation my colleagues have to help our customers and ultimately the patients. Another thing is that you can always ask any colleague about something, and everyone takes the time to help you in one way or another.”

In her role, Sara primarily works on support cases, enjoying the problem-solving aspect of her work. While the cases vary greatly, some common issues include individual login problems and configuration challenges. "The most challenging aspect is understanding how each customer operates, as there are many unique workflows."

During her free time, Sara and her entire family are actively involved in sports activities, particularly orienteering. "All five of us participate in competitions! So, during the season, we often travel to different orienteering events on weekends. It's a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends."
